Nature of Plant: Bulb is made of many bulblets called cloves, held together by a whitish skin; leaves are flat; flowers top a stalk that comes from the bulb and are massed into small, white umbels; sometimes bulbils are among the parts of the umbel.
Spacing of Mature Plants: 6 inches.
Cultural Requirements: Rich, sandy soil, moderately moist, in a sunny spot; cloves are planted about 2 inches deep, in drills like onions; harvest in late summer when leaves die down; keep free from weeds and hoe up soil about plants now and then.
Uses
Bulb: (Medicinal) Expectorant, rubifacient, diaphoretic in bronchitis, coughs and colds, antiseptic much used in first World War, the expressed juice diluted with water and applied with swabs of sterilized sphagnum moss, ointments and lotions, veterinary medicine, anthel mintic, for bringing boils and ulcers to a head.

Soya bean oil, vegetable shortening, lecithin, odourless garlic powder, (5 mg equivalent to about 500 mg of fresh Garlic Bulb) in a shell containing gelatin, gylcerin and purified water.
