Description
Vitamin C is the body's primary and best antioxidant and also an important factor in immune system support and cardiovascular health.
Necessary to maintaining all collagen structures, vitamin C promotes wound repair, strong bones and teeth, and healthy gums. Human body vitamin C needs increase during times of stress. Vitamin C is a powerful detoxifier, helping to cleanse the body of cigarette smoke and other damaging pollutants.
The body does not store vitamin C so this important vitamin must be replaced daily.

The product is good and I take it everyday (2) I have been told that Ester C is the best to take. Is this true?
[Editor: There have been conflicting research results concerning the effectiveness of Ester-C versus other forms of the vitamin: proponents point to studies that have demonstrated increased levels of bioavailability and faster absorption with the addition of specific vitamin C metabolites in Ester-C; critics mention the studies that show little or no difference in rates of absorption or urinary excretion. It would seem that the studies in favour of Ester-C (where absorption is concerned) are more numerous and suggest superiority in this specific regard. However, it should be noted that the vitamin C foundation does not recommend Ester-C, and with a very complex biochemical line of reasoning, they seem to agree with Linus Pauling (Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry) that the best form of vitamin C is still L-ascorbic Acid (C6H8O6). So, in short, it still isn't clear which is better.]

The essence of the current American rule on Traditional Uses is, as stated by FTC, "Claims based on historical or traditional use should be substantiated by confirming scientific evidence, or should be presented in such a way that consumers understand that the sole basis for the claim is a history of use of the product for a particular purpose."
