| | User Group Forum - Bugleweed (Lycopus virginicus) | | Share your questions and information with the ZooScape community! | | | | | | | | | | | | Director (Animal Rescue Agency of Last Resort) - September 6, 2006, 18:07 | #10000907 | | | | | | | | We've had excellent luck treating hyperthyroidism in cats with alcohol-free bugleweed - - about two drops, 3-4 times per day for extremely serious cases, less for milder ones (i.e., a thyroid level around 5.2). We also use cruniferous veggies - - caulleflower (never could spell that), brussel sprouts, or cabbage juiced or blended, contains a natural inhibitor which slows the thyroid (never use in cases of HYPOthyroid). I believe that Bugleweed is used in both hyper and hypothyroid, but I'm not entirely sure. Better check first before using for hypothyroid. I thought I read somewhere that bugleweed is a moderator, i.e., good for mediating both high and low values. | | | | | | | | | |
