Plantain Used internally and externally for inflammation, hemorrhoids, coughs, asthma and more. Plantain's primary medicinal value is its astringent quality. The fresh, crushed leaf will help reduce inflammation in insect bites or stings. Fresh bruised leaves can also be laid inside a baby's diaper for mild diaper rashes. A dried tea of plantain can be used for mild diarrhea, and the dried plant can be used in salves for hemorrhoids.
