Nettle, StingingNettle, Stinging
Tonic used for prostate problems, gout, rheumatism, allergies, hay fever and much more.

While considered by most to be a weed, nettle has long been used both as a nutritious foodstuff and as an herbal medicine. While the leaves are used as a tonic, the roots are used for prostate problems.

Many complementary practitioners consider nettle leaves to be a blood purifier and use them in cases of rheumatism and gout. Nettle leaves may also have anti-allergy properties, with at least one clinical trial showing that freeze-dried leaves are effective in treating hay fever. Recently most attention has been focused on the roots. Results from a number of clinical trials show that, given alone or with other herbal medicines, nettle root is effective in treating some of the symptoms of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) in men.
