German chamomile is a small fragrant annual found throughout Europe. A commercial cream containing German chamomile called Kamillosanr has been shown to be effective in promoting wound healing and treating skin ulceration. Traditionally chamomile creams and teas are used externally for wounds and minor skin irritation. German chamomile is used traditionally for many digestive disorders, including indigestion, peptic ulcers and diarrhea. It is also considered to be effective in treating mild insomnia and anxiety.
