Can anyone tell me if MSM 500 mg is good for my 2 year old shar pei? Shar pei are prone to shar pei fever which leads to amloydosis (kidney failure). My vet is very vague about administering MSM, and I would like to know if anyone has used this for their shar pei either with or without results. My Old English Bulldogge had problems with his joints, jumping in and out of my SUV to the point where I had to buy steps for him to climb up into my car. Now, after four months, as soon as I open the back door, he jumps in without any steps. I know it has helped him, but I am not sure of the effect MSM 500 will have on kidneys.
